My Responsibility to America
At a young age, my parents taught me what it meant to be responsible. They told me that being responsible for something is a way to show respect and appreciation for what you own. For starters, I was given jobs around the house, which my parents told me was my way of showing appreciation for the home I was provided, and it was my responsibility as a member of my family. America is also my home— a home which other brave Americans have paid for and founded. In return, just like having expectations in my household, I'm required to understand my responsibility in maintaining the greatness of our nation.
Taking responsibility for the standards I live by as an American is a good place to start. The United States Army

The American people are unrivaled in their willingness to sacrifice for the freedom of others. However, without comprehending the significance of my freedom, I won't be able to preserve it. I realize that understanding the motivation behind the founding of our country will better equip me with an idea of how to protect the freedom which led to the birth of our …show more content…
I will teach my children of the sacrifices great men and women have made to protect and defend our nation, so they shall not take their freedom for granted. I am responsible for preserving the history of our nation and to teach the future leaders of our country the importance of hard work, which is the value that allowed the United States of America to grow from a vision into a reality. If I fail to be responsible in this area, I fear all that America stands for will be lost. The values and morals which this country were established upon must be passed down, or the dream of the founders of America will become marred.
I am proud of my home, and I wish to honor it by following through with my responsibilities as a citizen of the United States. I want to preserve the freedom that was courageously fought for by incredibly brave men and women of this country. And lastly, I want everyone to understand that we need to start caring for our nation—our home—today, not tomorrow, and not sometime in the future. As Abraham Lincoln said, "You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today." I say, my time to be responsible for the well-being of America starts today. If I wait until tomorrow, it may be too

Presentation For Speech On December 10th: Made By: Brooke Heyl, Lalitha Aiyar, Maliyah Terry, and Eleanor Brodine In spite of the fact that, at the time, the formation of our government was seen as a grand experiment, all great experiments begin with background research and a purpose. In the case of the formation of the United States, the Framers researched other forms of government and different philosophies of the past. Of course, this was prompted by a series of attempts to seize the colonies by Great Britain - most of which violated the colonists’ promised rights of Englishmen.…

The nationalism and patriotism that’s displayed across the United States day to day reflects the overall pride and adoration of its citizens and what they believe. For example, patriotism is instilled in us from a very young age by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance within schools to demonstrate loyalty and pride for our country. To add, our much respected constitutional form of government that is constantly speculated against adds to the enigma of a nation that holds a strong forefront while “securing the bags” of every citizen and their profound rights and liberties. The underlying goal that the Framers of the Constitution and Founding Fathers desired to achieve a strong form of government that despite it being created in the 18th century,…

According to the Declaration of Independence, American citizens are granted four unalienable human rights. They are granted equality, life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, and a government that will derive its power from their consent. If the government becomes corrupt and makes decisions with no consideration towards their unalienable rights, it is also the right of the American citizen to alter or abolish their government until they have one that works best for them to provide safety and happiness. I believe the ability to alter or abolish a destructive government is the most important concept of the Declaration. This concept gives the American people the ability to ensure their government always has their best interests at heart, and allows them to make their government flexible to fit the needs of the country.…

The America I believe in is a country founded upon the basic right of freedom. Although often overlooked by many countries, freedom should be an essential part of any human’s life. Our Founding Fathers, who were strong advocates of freedom, took a risk by declaring their independence from the British tyranny. I feel that this risk that many considered to be unwise and rash, proved to be a brave and important decision that became an example for many countries who would later go on to declare their independence, such as Afghanistan and Egypt. The Founding Fathers had one thing that will prove to be a key constituent in many historical events: they had hope.…

The United States of America: a land of opportunity, freedom, and justice. As an immigrant, I can say with certainty that there is no other place in the world that I would rather live in other than the United States. Becoming an American citizen has been by far one of the best things that have ever happened to me, not only because of having a legal status, but because of the quality of life that I can achieve for my family and for myself. All of this is possible thanks to the freedoms and the rights that we enjoy as citizens of this great nation, and that are showcased on four major historical documents that reflect the values and ideas that continue to shape our society: the American Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Man, the Declaration…

The possibilities of peril are endless. It is also important because with items like ID cards it also controls access to sensitive areas such as, getting on and off post. If a lost ID falls into the wrong hands that gives endless possibilities to someone who shouldn't be on post, which can put other soldiers, contractors, and military families in danger. Along with putting them at risk, the fact of government property at risk of thief and/or vandalism can distort ones basic position in the military. There are also very important documents and equipment that if fallen into the wrong hands can be problematic to the government.…
