Salad Bowl Essay

America is known as a “salad bowl”, each ethnic group keeps their unique identity of their culture and retains them. Their unique identity is identifiable in the American culture as a whole. Hence the salad bowl each ingredient is identifiable and contributes it the overall salad (America) and the ingredients are held together by the dressing ( the laws of the land). Life without immigrants wouldn 't be America as we know it. The United States is known to be built by immigrants. Some came over for religious freedom, to escape their country 's oppressive leader or forced. These immigrants come over with the hopes of a better life for themselves and or their family. Normally immigrants are dreamers, goal oriented, and hardworking individuals. They come over for a second chance or to have chances that they couldn 't have in their country. Having a student from France in a class full of Americans will get the students wondering about that country. The students will then ask the student about their country, customs, and traditions. Then some students will want to visit that country. This increases international education and global talented students. In the future the students will contribute to the global economy by making trades with overseas country or by competing with overseas companies.
Overall immigrants come to America for different reasons, either the reason being that they a looking for freedom, better life, or quality of jobs. Immigrants make a better America by increasing the economy, creating small business, creating new jobs, and building up new countries. Without immigrants America would be globally isolated from the different cultures and languages. America wouldn 't be able to compete into the global economy.
