A quote that I believe in is ‘America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves’. Abraham Lincoln. I believe in this quote because it states that we can't be destroyed from the outside. America is the undefinable silent force that draws all people under its flag together. It is the weight that pulls on the tears that form as "The Star Spangled Banner" is sung. It is the smiles, the waves, the held doors, and the "pleases" and "thank-you's" that are shared between Americans, regardless of outside factors. The true definition of America is not a definition at all. America is an ever-present spirit that draws its people together, and can only be defined by…

The America I believe in is a country founded upon the basic right of freedom. Although often overlooked by many countries, freedom should be an essential part of any human’s life. Our Founding Fathers, who were strong advocates of freedom, took a risk by declaring their independence from the British tyranny. I feel that this risk that many considered to be unwise and rash, proved to be a brave and important decision that became an example for many countries who would later go on to declare their independence, such as Afghanistan and Egypt. The Founding Fathers had one thing that will prove to be a key constituent in many historical events: they had hope.…

America is the land of the free, because of the brave. Americans enjoy many freedoms because of the democracy our ancestors fought very hard to establish. Freedom summarizes what being an American is about, but it’s not what an American is. An American is someone who is brave enough to do something even though the punishment is severe, someone who sees opportunity and stops at nothing to achieve it, and someone who doesn’t take the easy way out. Bravery is part of the definition of an American.…

“The America I Believe In” “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.” We say these words every morning that us, as American patriots, believe in. To believe is to have trust or to deem something to be real. I believe in an America that upholds the rights and freedoms of every gender and race, a nation that grows on success, and a country that never stands down even when we look at fear face to face. People view America in all different ways, but to me, America means opportunity. Being handicapped or coming from a poor family can’t stop anyone from reaching goals or pursuing happiness. Generally, Americans are open to help and provide access to anything for anyone. When something is wrong or unjust, we become determined to fix it, whether it’s a simple parking space at a small town grocery store, or a nationwide political debate. Also, as Americans, we have the opportunity to make our own rules and say what needs to be said.…
