America is a land of amazing and unique opportunities that are not available everywhere in the world. America has been called the land of prosperity and of opportunity. America’s name itself brings visions of hope, patriotism, and of new life. We, as Americans, owe a great amount to the country that has given us so much, and it is our responsibility to repay that debt. It is the responsibility of all Americans to, first and foremost, love and respect their country. Following the laws that have been established, protecting this country, and keeping American grounds clean and beautiful are all ways in which we are obliged to show our love and respect to this land. In addition to loving the country itself, it is our responsibility to live in harmony with our fellow Americans. I have completed many hours of community service and I believe that it is my responsibility to involve myself in my community in any way possible. Getting involved in the community helps build a strong character and it teaches certain values that will benefit other communities. Speaking of community improvement, it is also my responsibility to pay any taxes set for me by our state and federal governments. Without taxpayer money, it would be impossible to maintain many of our most precious and crucial government funded organizations. If the American people allowed those organizations to fade away, we would be hurting our country and helping ourselves. This selfish thinking would show that our true priorities and responsibilities exist to help ourselves and not the country which we claim to hold dear. Therefore, I believe it is my responsibility to put my country before myself whenever it is necessary for the betterment of the lives of those around
