Improved Essays
Because America is such a great country, it deserves a great President. Some Presidents have done great things. Others, well, haven’t done such great things. When I am President I will change and do many things. I would be the greatest President in history, and only be it for a day. Read farther into my essay to see how I would be a great President. Football would be promoted by me doing this. With football being made in America, it’s great that I am promoting it. Another thing I would do is make more jobs for Americans. One way I would do

In my opinion, I agree with Seymour Martin Lipset, author of “Still the Exceptional Nation?”, that America is exceptional as it is “the world’s sole superpower.” (403) As Lipset mentioned, America is set apart from developed European nations for many reasons as America has exceeded the standards of greatness. America is an exceptional nation because our nation is dedicated to important principles such as human liberty and freedom in which all men are created equal and have equal rights. Our nation is explicitly founded upon the principles of human quality and natural rights.…

Was the Assassination of Abraham Lincoln Justified? There have been so many presidential assassinations of the US throughout history. Abraham Lincoln’s was significant since he was shot during a performance in a theatre in the back of the head. Lincoln’s assassination was unjustified because even though some people thought he was racist, he was a great president for our country, he helped abolished slavery in the United States, and he fought to prevent the nation from splitting apart.…

A president’s job is to lead our government, be a spokesperson for the people, and make sure America is living up to the ideals we were founded upon. One particular president, Abraham Lincoln, was a phenomenal spokesperson for the ideals America stands for, particularly equality and freedom, and led our nation to become a “more perfect” union. Abraham Lincoln grew up in a log cabin in Kentucky before later moving to Indiana. From a young age he had a desire to learn, and was always looking for ways to improve his education.…

The role of the President of the United States is supremely overwhelming. Many have come and gone with their own take on the job, and some have been liked by the general populace more than others. In my opinion, one of (if not) the best presidents was Franklin D. Roosevelt. He entered the office during the Great Depression and stayed throughout the second World War. His actions and decisions have changed the United States for the better good, and without him we could potentially have been in the Great Depression for many more years, not to mention that we could have been in a much worse state due to World War II.…

On a wintry day in 1831, the Choctaw Indians began a treacherous course many other southeastern Native Americans would soon follow. In addition to being forced off their land, they trekked through snow with limited food and supplies for weeks as thousands died. This was the beginning of a long journey that would later be called the Trail of Tears. The Trail of Tears is one of America’s darkest moments, when greed became more important than human lives. This came as a result of president Andrew Jackson putting his personal interests first as he manipulated his way through the law.…

The Presidency is arguably the most fascinating, and complex element of the American political system; due in part to the constitutional ambiguity that surrounds the office. Often, the people, the President, and the Constitution all have varying expectations about the role and duties of the presidency. Which in turn are not always seated in the realm of what is actually possible. The Presidency, according to the Founders, could be best described as limited. For, it is Congress that was meant to be the main body of governance.…
