Amelia Elizabeth Dyer also known as ‘Annie’ was born in 1837 and raised in Bristol,England she was the youngest of 5 her parents were respectable they had money and educate her.She love poetry.Her childhood was pleasant until her mom developed typhus and became ill.she developed a severe mental illness and Dyer, only 10-years-old at the time, took care of her mother. Some believe this experience contributed to her crimes. Dyer’s father passed a few years after her mother's illness began.After her mother’s death, Dyer went to live with her aunt, where she trained to make corsets. Soon she met a man who was 35 years her senior; she lied about her age and eventually married him. The job consisted of Dyer finding the women who’d conceived illegitimate children and moving them into her house during the late stages of pregnancy to care for them. During this time she’d search for a place to send their baby. However, as Ellen taught her, it was an easy job because, if the babies died of malnutrition, she could just say she’d found a home for the child and get paid anyway It wasn’t too uncommon for nurse babies to die. Baby farmers were stuck with the kids if they couldn’t find a place for them to go, and started to use unscrupulous methods like giving cough syrup with opiates to the babies that cried.
