Everybody wants to live an independent life. Do things on their own, move freely and not depending on anybody. But as we grow older and older we tend to become weaker and weaker. We become frail and slowly with time we are needing the help of others in our daily tasks. We become weak, start getting diseases, not having the energy to move, to support ourselves, even going to washroom we will need help. What if when we are home alone and something bad happens! We will need help but no one would be there for us. But not anymore, the rapid advancements in science and technology has enabled us to live independently much longer. With these scientific advancements comes the concept of Ambient Assisted Living (AAL). The Ambient Assisted Living provides a system comprising of medical sensors, wireless networks, computer and software applications for healthcare monitoring. The main aim of AAL is to extend the number of years which elderly people can live independently in an environment of their own preference.
As obvious, with the increase in population, the number of senior citizens is increasing by a large number. They all want to live a healthy life independent of others.
