The installation leads me to the next story where the exhibitions are on display. I follow the rope to the second floor which exhibits Ida Applebroog’s series Catastrophe with its colors contrasting against blank plaster walls. Each individual piece is drawn on five by two-and-half feet mylar sheets. These have a cream color and are translucent with a matte finish. Applebroog’s consistent style involves simple, curvilinear figures that resemble the abstraction often seen in children sketches.…
Amber Pasztor, a 29 year old female from Fort Wayne, Indiana, kidnapped her 7 year old daughter and her 6 year old son from her parents, who had custodial rights, home on September 26, 2016. Once Pasztor obtained knowledge about the Amber Alert for her children, she then murdered the two kids. This isn’t the only offense that Pasztor has committed. She was charged with a plethora of cases involving criminal trespassing and invasion of privacy. Pasztor’s mental state has been questioned because of her reasoning on why she murdered the children.…

‘The Mouth Holds the Tongue’ is an instillation piece designed and built by Lili Huston-Herterich, Laurie Kang and Nadia Belerique and installed at The Power Plant in Toronto, Ontario. The design of the piece is based structurally on the Sonsbeek Pavilion in Arnhem which was designed by Aldo van Eyck, who championed the structuralist architectural movement. The Toronto based trio of Kang, Belerique, Huston-Herterich have taken their own interpretation guided by there respective mediums; Belerique and Huston-Herterich in instillation, Kang in sculpture, and repurposed the pavilion concept to reflect their own values related to form. Minneapolis v. ACLU (2015) Opinion of the Court: Bradley May 2013 saw the arrival of an exhibit to the Minneapolis Institute of Art. The exhibit contents featured were A)photos of nude men and women depicted in a variety of poses, B) photos of adults engaged in various sexual activities, and C) pictures of several nude men standing very close to one another. Finally, there were several pictures that resembled recent advertisements by a famous clothes designer. Teenagers are introduced into the glossy magazine culture where images have been taken with expensive equipment and photo-manipulated images to sell a product. Our visual perception and interpretations underpin a process within a conceptual approach forcing us to visually see a representation and reaffirming our sense of identity and the realism of the photographic image laid before us because of this it is easy to see why long term lasting effects ripple though individuals lives, creating a negative self-image. We will look at aspects of Cindy Sherman`s images and explore her reason as to why she completed a series of self-portrait in the way she did and examine the relevance to what she was intending to show. The fact that she decided to not manipulate images could suggest she wanted to portray and uncover the differences between attractive and unattractive.…
1 – In his study of abstract art, David Halle sought to answer multiple questions about abstract art, specifically the ownership and opinions pertaining to it. First, Halle looked at who had abstract art in their homes; determining if the ownership of abstract art indicated social class, he then moved on to more subjective questions such as opinions of abstract art. Halle asked questions about who disliked and liked abstract art for a few different reasons; to learn the specific thinking behind these preferences and to learn if these preferences were linked to knowledge or perceptions within different social classes. The exhibition Over the Fence, currently on display at the UQ Art Museum features a selection of photographic works from eighteen contemporary Indigenous artists. The selected artworks have been drawn from the private collection of art enthusiast, collector and philanthropist Patrick Corrigan. After an accident that took place on 07/11/2014, my motorcycle needed repairs. So I contacted Mr. Albuquerque owner of Unique Customs Cycles INC. After explaining my situation to him he agreed on providing his professional services for much needed mechanical and bodywork repairs.
