Amber Alert is a missing child program. Although it may seem useful, it does not help when it comes to high risk offends. According to Griffin et al. (2009), amber alert is useful when a child’s life isn’t in danger. However, when it comes to identifying a kidnapper, people make assumptions such as, he or she must be a stranger which is not always the case. there are many problems involving amber alerts such as, the length of times that has passed since the kidnapping (Griffin et al., 2009). People often relies on the descriptions of a kidnapper on the alerts and disregard the fact that, criminals may not look the same throughout the day. For example, he or she may change their clothes or cars, and so forth.
