The Amazon rainforest, also known in English as Amazonia or the Amazon Jungle, is the largest tropical rainforest in the world, covering over five and a half a million square kilometers (1.4 billion acres). Its location spans from Brazil into Northern South America with over half of it located in Brazil. The Amazon Rainforest covers 2,100,000 square miles (5,500,000 square kilometers), making it the biggest rainforest in the world. It is twice the size of India, and over half the size of America. Also, it is home to around 2 and a half million different insect species as well as over 40000 plant species. The Amazon Rainforest has a mossy ground cover and is rich with vegetation, animals and insects It has many slopes, cliffs and hills for waterfalls
