Amazon Rainforest Environmental Effects

The Amazon Rainforest; what all lurks within has been somewhat of a mystery. Although, what isn’t a mystery is the deforestation happening there. Some can argue that deforestation can actually benefit society, but is it benefits really long term? Is it really worth it to hack down one of the largest forests just to get some short term profits instead of thinking about the climate impact just the rainforest has by itself on the world? Even so, the environmental problems that we face do not just stop with deforestation. Society itself needs to be educated on just even the smallest things we do in our daily lives affects everyone in the bigger picture. In the PSA, what I hoped to be accomplished was for those who visit the website to be more aware of how important the rainforest really is and how crucial it is to push efforts in stopping deforestation. There is a whole page dedicated to just the effects of deforestation on the environment, animals, and plants which just in length indicates severity. The reason the PSA is in a website form is because everyone has some device, whether it be a computer or smartphone or tablet, that can access the Internet and therefore can reach the website. It is the easiest way to get the information out to many people and with adequate amounts of information. If a video was made, for example, the amount of information that is on the website would be too much if put into video form, so the video would be very long and no one would want to watch it. At least with a website people can leisurely scroll through and get the information that appeals to them the most. I believe the amount of information on the website for the PSA is successful as there is just enough information to get the important things across, but not too much where people don’t understand or are afraid of the hard facts. A way to improve this PSA in the future is to add more crisis reports as that gives current, real examples of what is happening which can open more people’s minds. News is very influential as even by just the way it is presented can change a person’s opinion or motives. In aspect of other social problems, I learned that there is a lot of confusion around some issues and that it is difficult to find reliable sources, so you have to be careful with the information that you find. This is why there is not many websites on big social issues as false information could make things even worse. It was difficult to find articles or just information in
