We spend so much time in this country talking about the health risks of smoking, drinking, and unhealthy food to preserve our years at the end of our lives. We do very little to actually gain back time during the most productive years. Time spent in traffic and waiting in lines at the store are really a tragic problem in modern-day that never attracts the attention it requires. The postal system in North America has not fundamentally changed since it was started in the 1600s. A person drops off a parcel and marks down a static address for the parcel to be delivered to. When you think about it, not a lot has really changed since then. One must still put pen to paper and select a physical address to ship to. In modern times everyone …show more content…
This service goes by the name of Amazon Prime Air. All three of the above listed problems would be solved by Amazon.com's proposal of quick delivery of smaller items. The big three shipping services, UPS, FEDEX, and USPS have taken up hopes of creating their own automated aerial delivery programs (Lowensohn, "FedEx laughs off delivery drones while developing its …show more content…
They are reaching out to the Federal Aviation Administration ahead of time to allow exemptions due to the lack of regulations for sUAS. On top of this effort to achieve domestic testing, they are testing their aircraft just 2,000 feet away from the United States in Canada (Pilkington, "Amazon tests delivery drones at secret Canada site after US frustration"). For Amazon to continue to be leaders in this endeavor they will have to partner with the FAA as well as the lobbying group, Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems (AUVSI). Amazon Prime Air's group of software engineers, roboticists, aeronautical engineers, and remote sensing experts have a tall order to fulfill. Goal number one for this team is to create an equivalent or better level of safety with their drone delivery system. This teams hard work now will prevent their legal team future headaches. The American public will be quick to sue in cases in which their safety, property, or privacy are put into
