When it receives an order, the system will tell an employee where to find an item that needs to be shipped. In the case of multiple items, the system will calculate the shortest route for the worker to get all of the items. This system allows for greater efficiency, and as a result, increases Amazon’s profits (Jones). Amazon uses a variety of technological systems to run their business. Without these, Amazon would not be nearly as successful as they are today. Each tool and system that they use is shown to have increased their business potential, and helped them with sales. The most important part of Amazon’s success, is that they use all of the systems and collected data in a way that is friendly and helpful to the user.
