Bullying has been an issue in many schools for decades. However, back in the day bullying wasn't really recognized and little understood. What may be seen as violent behavior now might not have been before. While bullying in school remains a critical issue, throughout the years several events and studies have made a significant impact on bullying and have also caused the expansion of its meaning in many ways. Bullying was not well recognized until a well known newspaper made a publication about it. The Times London in August of 1862 wrote their first story of bullying about a man who decided to take his life because he was being bullied. This was a shocking story because society then didn't see that behaviors that caused his death to be harmful.

He would pretend to be a new student and make friends from Amanda's school and deliver her photographs to them. This caused Amanda to lose all the respect she would always gained. Also, her enemies were her old guy friend who she contacted with after months of not talking and his girlfriend. The guy made Amanda think that he liked her just so she can have sex with him even though he had a girlfriend. When his girlfriend found out about what happened, her and a group of other 15 girls confronted Amanda and punched her several times.
