Amanda Knox was a 20-year-old college student who was studying abroad in Perugia, Italy. She was convicted of killing her roommate Meredith Kercher on November 1, 2007. Meredith was found November 2 around 12:00 pm laying on the floor dead, she had been stabbed repeatedly and died from exsanguination. Amanda and her boyfriend at the time Raffaele Sollecito noticed something was wrong when they arrived at Via della Pergola 7 to find the front door open and drops of blood in the bathroom that Kercher and her shared. Amanda noticed the Kercher’s bedroom door was locked, which Amanda took it as she was asleep, Amanda showered and following her shower she also noticed feces still in the toilet that Romanelli and Mezzetti shared. Amanda went back to her boyfriend Sollecito’s house where they then returned to Via della Pergola 7, Sollecito attempted to force Meredith’s door open, which was unsuccessful. …show more content…
After the discovery of Kerchers body Amanda and Raffaele were taken to the police station where they were interrogated for five days. The investigators then told reporters that Kercher’s killers were found, which led to Knox and Sollecito’s arrest. During this whole case there was no evidence that pointed towards either of the two individuals arrested, the forensic lab was able to pull a bloody palm print from the scene an discovered that it belonged to Rudy Guede. Guede was accused of several burglaries, but was never charged, he was immediately arrested and when questioned he stated that he did not kill Kercher and that Knox and Sollecito were not
