In the book, Maniac Magee, Jerry Spinelli uses descriptive details, dialogue, actions, and thoughts to develop a main character Amanda. Amanda is a young woman and she is very mature so she doesn’t like a lot of fooling around and she very interested in books.

Amanda is bibliophile because she really like books, and she has read the encyclopedia A witch is a very long book on a bunch of informational things. One of the pieces of evidence is Amanda had a suitcase that was filled with books of all sorts and she let Maniac borrow one of them. “ Both sides of the suitcase crammed with them.”

The second pieces of evidence is Amanda had found out that the encyclopedia A was torn up and used as confetti so she was devastated about her book being
