Mood:
I displayed mood with my music mostly. I made is fade in and out at some points depending on what the slide was talking about. Around the time when I talk about Amanda’s dad not being happy about everyone finding out her secret, I make the music drop. Also, when I put the pictures in there of the broken hearts I drop the music because it's a sad topic in the story. I also display the mood through the pictures I use, for example when Amanda and Grant break up I put a picture of broken hearts.
Themes:
My two themes are “Gender identity is a struggle” and “Never give up on someone important to you.” I chose the gender identity one because the whole book is based on how Amanda used to be Andrew and after her surgery, she moves to live with her dad who she has not talked to in awhile and no one there knows her

Amanda is a new student in Lambertville. She is a pretty brown haired girl that makes new friends easily. She was not looking for a boyfriend because she knew she was complicated. When she meets Grant she begins to change her mind and is willing to break her rules for him. Grant is a star football player with a complicated background as well but not in the same way as Amanda. His home life is rough as he is struggling for money and has many jobs in order to help his family. Amanda and Grant click at a party that they both attend and from there they started to hang out more.
Setting:
The setting of this book is in Lambertville, Tennessee. I put a picture of apartments in my video because Amanda’s dad lives in apartments. Lambertville is all new to Amanda but luckily she meets a great group of girls that are willing to show her around and help her get familiar with the new town. Grant also helps her learn the town. After a party, they go to they end up in a tree house and that is where things started for them. They spent some time there after and it became a special place for both of them.

The characters all live in a small town called Lark Creek and, except for when Jess goes to Washington, D.C., with Miss Edmunds, all the action takes place there. Lark Creek is a small, almost backward town in Virginia where people are slow to accept change and frown on difference (see "Character Analysis: Miss Edmunds" for more on this). They don't like hippies or girls who wear pants. People live on farms, work hard, and struggle. They don't have many resources and people, even children, are supposed to make do with the little they've…

The theme that I chose was that in life, we should not hold on to someone that does not provide us with the happiness we required. In the story, we see Yolanda being married to Frank. Frank was a person who would not only disrespect Yolanda, but was definitely a very jealous guy. In addition to that, the audience can perceive Frank being over-protective during the story, Frank would stop Yolanda from learning new things and hold on to her if she was his property. Also the reader can perceive and assume Yolanda was not happy with their relationship which would cause differences between them.…

A Theme is a “main idea or underlying meaning of a literary work that may be stated directy of indirectly” - http://literarydevices.net/theme/ After reading through, these are the five themes I believe to be most predominant throughout the book: Theme one: “Always keep an open mind.” What I mean by this is that, throughout the story Scout (the main character) observes what happens around her, good or bad, and in most instances, she learns from it. Although, she tends to like picking fights or acting tough and “unladylike” ,she shows that she can understand, or tries to understand someone else’s perspective, such as the court case or with her Aunt and her trying to make her into a proper lady. This is definitely a more predominant…
