A gluten allergy is an allergic reaction to foods containing a glycoprotein (gliadin,), that along with another protein (glutenin), helps to form the gluten protein. A gluten allergy, not to be confused with gluten sensitivity or celiac disease, is found in wheat and other related grains such as barley, rye, and oats.
