Will Smith plays the role of Dr. Bennet Omalu, the neuropathologist who discovers CTE (Chronic traumatic encephalopathy) in professional football players Dave Duerson and Andre Walters, and the link between their injuries and the early signs of Alzheimer's.
"Concussions" follows the Neuropathologists battle with the NFL who attempt to discredit his research and reputation. To quote the movie, Dr. Julian Bailes(Alec Baldwin), states to Dr. Omalu (Smith), "You've turned on the lights and gave their biggest boogeyman a name."
There's already buzz that this role could garner Will Smith his first Academy Award.
