She started to climb and instantly I was worried and hurriedly unlatched the gate and opened it.

"I wasn't being serious you know."

Alyss blushed

This can be seen when she is around wonderlanders. After entering the Pool of Tears, Alyss becomes admirable, which can be noted when she cares for people in a lower status than her. Upon entering the Looking Glass Maze, Alyss develops into a fierce character by standing up to Redd.…

The character of Richard Hannay becomes relatable and interesting for the viewer because of the main theme of the film, which is reflected, not only in the protagonist’s personality and actions, but also that of the people he encounters during his adventure: gender relations and sexuality, hidden by espionage and adventure. In fact, the entire plot of the film could be construed as a consequence and punishment of one of the first few scenes of the film: a woman’s proposition for a night of illicit sex. This scene takes place after an insert of a gun firing two shots in the air lets the viewer be aware of the chaos that will ensue. Hannay and Annabella are thrown together and find themselves on the street as Annabella asks whether she can go…

Both Art Spiegelman and Anthony Doerr have unique writing styles which are evident throughout each novel. Art Spiegelman, the author of Maus: A Survivor's Tale, has a rather conversational writing style. The plot follows Vladek's less than perfect English dialect while he tells his Holocaust experience to his son, Art. Anthony Doerr, the author of All the Light We Cannot See, possesses more of a narrative style, considering the point of view is third person omniscient. The story is told by analyzing the major characters thoughts and feelings.…
