Always Remember Me: How One Family Survived World War II is a beautifully written story about the authors grandmother, mother, and two aunts and their family's survival during WWII and the Holocaust. Part memoir, part historical nonfiction, this book does a wonderful job of explaining the tragedy of that time in a way young readers can understand without getting too heavy into all the heavier stuff. The book is so elegant and really helps the reader to connect to this family and see that even though they went through something really horrible, they had hope and were able to overcome it. I loved how the illustrations came from old family photographs from the authors family and how the real photos are on the inside cover of the book. I think
