What I got from reading the two essays was that in both essays there was a lot of emotion. In "Always Go to the Funeral" Deirdre didn’t have the motivation to attend the funeral which is common for most kids and teenagers. Later when she was old enough to realize why her father told her to go is that to pay respect and show responsibility. I got from this essay is that always listen to your parents because they know what’s best for you. In "My Grandmother's Dicho"
