Alternative Energy Resources
Climate change is a major issue affecting the world today. The burning of fossil fuels like coal and oil contributes to the changing of the climate by increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Other greenhouse gas like Nitrous oxide and Methane also contributes to climate change. We can reduce climate change by using alternative energy sources like wind water energy.
Wind Energy
Modern wind turbines harness wind 's kinetic energy and convert it into electricity. People started using wind power centuries ago with windmills, which pumped water, grind grain, and did other work. There are two main kinds of wind generators, those with a vertical axis, and those with a horizontal axis. Most wind turbines have a horizontal axis and commonly have three blades and sit atop a steel tubular tower, and they range in size from 80-foot-tall turbines that can power a single home to utility-scale turbines that are over 260 feet tall and power hundreds of homes. Wind turbines can be used to generate large amounts of electricity in wind farms both onshore and offshore.
Although wind power reduces greenhouse gases it does have some bad effect on the environment like the death of birds and bats and visual health. Apart from direct birds’ collisions, the huge pressure changes around wind turbines can cause serious internal damages to some birds, especially bats. We can reduce the death of birds and bats and also keep wind turbine by keeping Wind…
