Alternative Energy
Introduction
Renewable energy is also referred to as alternative energy. This is generally, power whose source does not run out. Unlike fossil fuels, it causes no pollution. The energy leaves no residues that would otherwise cause harm. Alternative energy is a common term, used to contrast this form of energy from the traditional sources of energy such as coal power and natural gas as well as oil power. The traditional sources of energy are definitely environmentally unfriendly. Alternative energy has several other names such as clean energy, green energy, or renewable energy. Alternative energy includes geothermal power, biomass, hydropower, solar power, and wind

The main solar energy systems include thermal systems and photovoltaics. Photovoltaic systems are those that convert solar-radiation to electricity through various methods, among them silicon panels. Silicon panels produce electric current the moment light shines on them. These are common in rural areas where it is hard to have electricity on a utility line. Solar-thermal systems are used to store heat from the sun. The applicable methods for this purpose include passive systems and active systems, among others.
Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy comes from the heat from the earth. It is sustainable and is clean energy. Resources of this form of energy include shallow ground, hot rock and hot water, beneath the surface of the earth, and the magma found deeper the earth’s surface. Below the earth’s surface where the temperature ranges between 10 and 16 degrees Celsius, geothermal-heat pump can utilize this resource to heat and cool buildings (Grant 54).

TALK ABOUT BAD SIDE OF ALTERNATIVE ENERGY; WIND TURBINES. Alternative energy can be found in every corner of the world. It would be possible, with enough support, to harness this energy and use it for the benefit of the human race. Besides the obvious candidates (solar, hydro, and wind), energy can be developed from a multitude of household items. Research has found that this could include chocolate waste, used diapers, sawdust, turkey waste, methane from cows, human fat, coffee grounds, and Styrofoam cups (Motavalli).…

Energy is an essential resource in everyday life. Our world revolves around energy and without it we wouldn’t be able to live. Our main source of energy is indeed fossil fuels but slowly they are becoming more and more limited. With fossil fuels once they are gone and used, they are gone forever. We burn these fossil fuels to receive fuel for planes, cars and powers electricity plants supporting large industries.…

Canada is endowed with all of the resources, both natural and man made, we require to meet our energy needs for the rest of this century. For the past couple of decades, the country has been using fossil fuel as the primary energy source to heat our homes, power machines and automobiles. However, fossil fuel may no longer be the solution due to the amount of pollution in the country. One critic of this record of neglect insists that the damages to the “environment shaded their benefits. It did not take very long for the earth to run out of energy resources and to threaten environmental and human health”(Morgil et al., 2006).…

Wind: An Energy Source Alternative Wind power is a renewable source of energy. Wind turbines convert the wind’s kinetic energy into mechanical or electrical energy that can be used for power. Wind energy is viewed as a clean alternative to fossil fuels and can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Wind energy can provide a lot of benefits to the ecosystem and economy of the United States. While wind energy does have a lot of perks, some people argue that wind energy is an expensive and unreliable source of energy.…

Nine different power plants presented their proposals the past few days, and they all were very informative. There were a couple proposals that intrigued me, and a few that I do not like at all. All of the presentations were full of information and knew what they were talking about, but some stood out over others because of the energy type, not the presentation. There were two companies that presented types of nuclear energy, fission and fusion. Although they are both nuclear energy sources, the way they make electricity is very different.…

Due to the advancements in modern technology and society, there are innumerable amounts of ways to fuel and support a population efficiently. Some of these innumerable ways include fossil fuels and renewable energy. Fossil fuels are defined as a natural fuel, such as coal or gas, formed in the geological past from the remains of living organisms. Renewable energy is defined as energy from a source that is not depleted when used, such as wind or solar power. Fossil fuels and renewable energy both provide energy in the form of electricity, however these different forms come at different costs.…

Fossil fuels are being consumed continuously by human even at this moment. We have to implement renewable energy sources such as sunlight, wind, rain, waves, and geothermal heat and substitute fossil fuels we use for them. Renewable Energy policy Network for the 21st century[REN21](4 September, 2014) explains that renewable energy amounted to 19 percent to humans ' global energy consumption in 2012 and occupies 22 percent of released electric energy in 2013. In addition, they also show that advanced countries invest developing renewable energy more than US$214 billion in 2013…

Wordsworth and Coleridge: Stylistic Distinctions with Spiritual Resemblance In Lyrical Ballads 1798, it is easy to distinguish the poems composed by William Wordsworth from the ones composed by Samuel Coleridge. This is not out of their divergent views, but rather, a result of their characteristic poetic styles and distinctive writing subjects. Coleridge himself gives an account of this: These are the poetry of nature… composed of two sorts… It was agreed that my endeavours should be directed to persons and characters supernatural, or at least romantic… Mr. Wordsworth, on the other hand, was to propose to himself, as his object, to give the charm of novelty to things of every day.…

Construction Pollutants Construction work is essential in order for our society to expand and develop. However, construction work can take a toll on the environment and the community around it. Air, water, and noise pollution are the three main pollutants that affect the environment and community. Air pollution mainly comes from the toxins emitted by the construction equipment. According to the US EPA Clean Air Act Advisory Committee, “A single bulldozer engine can emit as much particulate matter as more than 500 cars”(Construction equipment, 2015).…

Introduction As the threats of climate change have increased, so has research on alternative energy. Alternative energy differs from classic fuel sources (i.e. coal, shale, natural gas) because it uses natural resources that has the ability to be consistently replaced; thus it is also termed “renewable energy.” “Biofuels” are a specific class of renewable energy that refers to biomass (versus other natural resources like sunlight) or harvested metabolites from living organisms that can be converted into a source of alternative energy. In addition to being renewable, these fuel sources also have lower greenhouse gas (i.e. CO2, CH4, etc.) emissions.…
