Alphonse Gabriel Capone: Italian Immigrants

Alphonse Gabriel Capone was born in the district of Brooklyn in New York. His parents are of Italian origin and immigrated in the United States in 1888. By this time there was a massive wave of immigration in America called “New immigration”, the third and largest wave of immigration from Europe consisted of slaves, Jews and Italian. Those new immigrants were mostly artisans and peasants who leave poverty in Italy to begin a new life in United States. There were also a small population of craftsmen like Al Capone’s father who was a respectable barber and his mother who was a seamstress. The Capone’s family had plenty of dreams when they move from Naples to America but, when they arrive on the new land, they experienced trouble. Under his mask of normal citizen, Al Capone always had a rebel side; he joins the toughest gangs at a younger age, he stole things and manipulates the mind of the citizen with act of generosity. For example, when he was young if someone would stole something from a citizen, Al Capone would regroup a gang to find the kid; they would find the kid, beat them and after that they would retrieve the stolen object to the person. Apart from his criminal life, Al Capone was someone who support and take care of his family. For example, at the age of 18; he defends his sister from a man named Frank Carlucci O and got slashed on the left cheeks by the knife of Carlucci O. The exploits of Al Capone come in the ear of a big shark called Johnnie Torio. Torio became Capone role model; he move to Chicago to run things for Big Jim Colisimo; he controls the gambling and whore house business. Colisimo’s empire had trouble, Torio needed someone intelligent who could take toughest decision so, he decided to recruit Capone. Torio became Capone’s
