Another goal that I have as president would be to increase motivation within the chapter whether that means for the LC or chapter members. Motivation for the e-board will help to encourage chapter teamwork collectively. To achieve this goal, I believe that it is important to motivate the middle. Sometimes in our chapter, sisters need to be reminded that they have a purpose within the chapter. The most effective way of achieving this goal would to allow for open discussion and opinions from general members. Many of has been to leadership conferences, speeches, or even read books about the three kinds of members in an organization. The top third can consist of members on the LC, or in general those members who live and breathe for the chapter. The middle are the good members, they …show more content…
I believe that it is not important to focus on the bottom third but the middle. We need to start focusing on members who are present at events, such as philanthropy rather than spending time on those members who skipped. When focusing on active participates it creates a more positive atmosphere and eliminates negativity. Each member in Alpha Omicron Pi is involved for different reasons but in the end we all share the same ritual and values. This is what we need to focus on and start understanding our sisters, we all have a different purpose and we need to celebrate these purposes rather than get caught up in why sisters missed an event. As president, I will encourage positive energy and we will eliminate negativity all together. As we all know, I have been abroad this semester but will be arriving back home at the end of November. I will have the opportunity to bring positive energy to the chapter and get acquainted with the entire chapter before the spring starts. I will also plan a kickoff event in January with the LC, so that we will be ready for what the spring semester brings

There is never a day when I don't look at myself in amazement. That is because I am still surprised that I did not quit the Phi Theta Kappa officer team. Even though I keep myself from having emotional breakdowns on campus, there were days I questioned why I am still an officer. If anybody told me that I would be a chapter officer of an internationally proclaimed honor society, I would smile while laughing hysterically in my head. I barely could talk in front of a crowd, let alone lead an entire chapter.…

Beyond dedication and efficiently completing the tasks required of me, my personal initiative to strive for greater feats is a quality that is essential in a President, whose duties do not rely on delegated tasks from another individual. In addition, my previous experiences leading other organizations and communicating with influential members within OCSA’s administrative body has allowed me to gain the qualities of a qualified candidate. This past fall semester, I worked with the administration to assist the counselors in volunteering at and planning for Freshman Retreat. I received this opportunity as my past position as President of Heart-2-Heart, a student lead club that formerly organized the retreats.
