Alohacare Personal Statement

AlohaCare has been a vital asset to my well being. It has provided me with quality medical insurance that has allowed me to remain healthy throughout the course of my life - from just a newborn till now, a recent high school graduate. Recently, I had difficulty breathing and inflammation in the nose for about a year. I had a hard time sleeping at night and was unable to concentrate during school. With AlohaCare, I was able to receive the proper medical attention I needed without having to worry about costly expenses. After trying different types of medication, I was finally able to obtain one that provided relief. I am now able to sleep comfortably at night and wake up ready to tackle the day. Without Alohacare, this may not have been possible. I am very grateful for the services I have received. I have recently been accepted to the University of Hawaii at Manoa and will be majoring in Biology so that I may gain a better understanding of living organisms. This will further my career in the health care fields as it will allow me to gain the knowledge I need to be able to assist …show more content…
I will do what is necessary to get ahead and I won’t give up. With my degree, I plan on giving back to my community by volunteering to non-profit clinics that assist those in need who may not have the money to afford medical coverage. I would like to inform students who are interested in the medical field all about why becoming a doctor is a great choice! When I have the funds to do so, I would also like to create my own scholarships to assist students who plan to pursue the medical field. I feel this would be the perfect opportunity to expand the field of medicine and allow for more doctors that can help those in need. I hope to someday be that person that provides excellent medical care to others, just as I have received through

As of now, I am uncertain of what field of medicine I want to pursue. The amount of different specialties that a medical student could seek is pleasantly overwhelming. Regardless of what specialty I will end up selecting, I aspire to be more than a physician that only treats people. I am motivated to give back and contribute to my local community as well as healthcare as a whole. As I learn more about the health disparities around the UIC community, the more ideas come to mind on how to tackle these challenges.…

The study of medicine has evolved over thousands of years from something of an enigma governed by religious spheres to the highly specialized science of preventing, treating, and curing diseases of the human body. While my interest in becoming a physician did begin with a love of natural sciences, it has, like the study of medicine, evolved into something much larger than topics covered in my general biology courses. I want to work with people on managing their conditions, learn from doctors before me as well as patients, and be a positive influence despite often-negative diagnoses. Individuals all have different reasons for wanting to attend medical school, but I believe that we are either called to practice medicine or we are not. I am drawn…

I feel that I can make a difference in each patient’s life that I encounter, it might be as small as getting a wheelchair if they seem flaccid or weak, a blanket if they are cold, something to drink or just talking to a patient to get their mind off pre-surgery. I look forward to volunteering each week. The most rewarding day by far was being able to witness a nurse giving CPR to a child choking. She saved his life. I would want to someday be able to be able to save a life, not for the recognition but because I want to make a difference.…
