Almost Lost
Martin Luther King Jr. once pronounced this in one of his speeches: “Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” Ralph observed that sometimes we have to put our faith, hope, and trust in people even when we cannot make sense of it. Ralph should not have fought back against the bullies for three reasons; Ralph needed to be the kinder person, wanted to set a godly example, and sought to obey the almighty God. The first reason Ralph should not have fought back against the bullies is Ralph needed to be the kinder person. He was a well behaved gentleman. He did not want to potentially adopt the crazy behavior of the bullies. He would be destroying his character, which his father told him to build.

Ralph is not a horrible person as jack but he does have his limits. Take this example, “‘piggy’ grinned reluctantly, pleased despite himself at even this much recognition. ‘so long as you don’t tell the others-‘ Ralph giggled into the sand” (Golding 11). Piggy felt confident about telling Ralph his nickname but Ralph being Ralph, he ended up laughing about the fact that his nickname being Piggy which then Piggy felt upset, he was chubby which kind of made it worse. Here is another example of Ralph being rude towards piggy, “Laughter arose.…

In my opinion, Ralph was an amazing leader, even though at times he had his flaws. If it wasn't for his leadership the time they spent on the island would have been way more chaotic. Though towards the end of the book his leadership started to decrease. I believe, his leadership started decreasing because all of the stress he was under, which started his flaws. But no one is perfect, everyone has their flaws, even leaders, and everyone h.…

The verb to lead defines as to direct the way, usually by going in advance. Characters, whether real or fake, tend to desire the ability to lead a group, which in turn causes conflict when more than one character wants to lead. However, not just anyone can be a leader, a leader must be able to guide a group to a collective goal. Few characters are ever able to do this without conflict and so the best fit leader must be chosen. A prime example of this is in William Golding’s novel Lord of the Flies, where a group of boys are stuck on an island and one must be chosen to lead.…

In my opinion, I consider Ralph as a victim in “Lord of the flies” because, from the beginning of the book, he suffers to keep the order through the group, and the hope in being rescued. He is struggling for civilization and returning home. In mean time, he resists jack’s savagery. Ralph doesn’t accept being like the hunters, their main duties are hunting, killing, and destructing the island. He can’t act such barbarity that is different from what he used to live.…
