Almost Famous Inaccuracies

In the year 2000, the well-renowned director, Cameron Crowe, released yet another successful movie titled Almost Famous; this semi-autobiographical film starred Patrick Fugit as William Miller, Kate Hudson as Penny Lane, and Billy Crudup as Russell Hammond, among others. The film centers around the coming-of-age journey of the fifteen-year-old protagonist, William Miller. Will grew up in an overly strict household with his rebellious sister, Anita (portrayed by Zooey Deschanel), and their single, overprotective mother, Elaine Miller (Frances McDormand). Subsequent to Anita serving as his segue into the music genre of rock and roll music, William met the rock critic Lester Bangs (Philip Seymour Hoffman) who served as his mentor and moral compass throughout the duration of the film. It didn't take long before he was contacted by Rolling Stone magazine to write an editorial piece on the band Stillwater; while at the concert, Will meets Penny Lane and the members of Stillwater for the first time. Though, of course, no movie is completely without error, and Almost Famous is no exception to that. Within the movie lie a handful of factual and continuity errors. For instance, when Lester Bangs is introduced in the radio station and he pulls Yes' Fragile album from the shelf and throws it on the ground, the camera cuts away to the radio show hostess and when it cuts back to Lester, Fragile is back on the shelf behind him. Furthermore, there is a scene in which Will is interviewing Russell, and Russell removes a shirt from a chair, but when the camera cuts away from and then back to Russell, the shirt is once again on the
