Almarai Company was founded in 1977 by the its Chairman HH Prince Sultan Bin Mohammed bin Saud Alkabeer (Almarai, 2014), it is located in Riyadh, the capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), and currently employs over 34,000 people (Almarai, 2014). The company started in Riyadh and it had a number of decentralized farms and plants, but during the 1990s it went through a restructuring process, and it replaced its small decentralized plants and farms with large centralized ones which are located in different regions in KSA, and that change took place in order to become a low-cost producer of high-quality products (Almarai, 2014). Since then the company expanded regionally and it is now considered the number one company in the food industry, not only in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, but also in the Gulf Coast region.
Almarai aims to be the consumers’ number one choice by leading in chosen markets, with high quality food and beverages in the region supported by a distinguishing substructure mix that integrates world-class farms, production operations and distribution system (Almarai,2014). The most important factor based on the weighted score is factor #1, sales increased 13.5% (Almarai,2014), which is a strong indication that Almarai position in the business is very strong. But by studying the weakness factors of the company we find that factor #2 indicates that expenses of the company has increased 15.7% (Almarai,2014) and that is a major weakness which would have a negative effect on the company’s
