In Almann’s speech he struggled with pronouncing a couple words. The word that stuck out to the most to me was neonicotinoids. He had to say this word multiple times and he struggled with it each time. This took away from his speech could have been avoided. To improve this for his next speech he should practice any word he struggles with. Also, he should find synonyms for any hard to pronounce words, such as pesticide for neonicotinoids. Along with the problem in pronunciation, Almann did not have an effective visual aid. His visuals were just different pictures of bees and did not add to the presentation at all. He could have had a visual showing how bees pick up pesticides and a graph showing the effects of the decline of the bee population on farmers. For next time Almann should practice more to ensure all pronunciation is correct and make sure visual aid is effective. Almann’s speech had some strengths and some weaknesses. His biggest strength was organization, which made his clarity great. Still with these strengths he did have some weaknesses. The biggest one being the lack of an effective visual aid. With everything considered Almann’s speech was a good speech. He effectively informed the audience about the causes and effects of a declining bee
