He explained the original of this event friendly, “this event is mainly served for LGBTQ members and also serve to all OU students who want to get free second-hand clothes”. He mentioned that this is the first year to hold the LGBTQ Closet and this idea is from a graduate student who is also a member of LGBTQ. Other OU students donated all of the clothes for LGBTQ Ally; in fact, the reason why the LGBTQ Ally was willing to hold this event, was because they wanted to provide a chance for their members to get some clothes, since some of their members are unique, and may face the discrimination in the society because they want to try some special style’s clothes. Within LGTBQ Ally’s special environment, nobody will have prejudice thoughts and despise you no mater what gender you are, no matter what sexual preference you are. Instead, all of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people can feel a sense of identity and equality with others. All of them will be treated equally no matter who you are. In general, LGTB is still a small group of people who are not widely recognized. People always drift with the current, and their idea is affected by the public’s voice instead of having one’s own opinion. I was shocked that there are a group of people that are puzzled by discrimination. When they want to try some special styles of clothes, they cannot buy those clothes at the shopping mall; instead, they have to take advantage of LGTBQ Closet this event to try on these clothes.
