Allowed In School

If phones are already coming to school then why should there be a ban. They aren’t allowed on the bus, but many students still do even if the driver tells them not to. Many students in the school already use them in class or the bathroom. Phones should be allowed at school and on the bus for a number of reasons.

Phones should be allowed in school because they need to stay in touch with their parents. What if there was an emergency or something happened to them, they need to get in reach with their parents. According to Family Education, “You can be in touch with your children, and know their whereabouts. (The Pew study noted that 48 percent of parents use the phone to monitor their child's location.)” Anyone under 18 should always be allowed to get ahold of their parents at all times. Even when there is no emergency parents still want to see where their children are at. There are many apps including, ‘Find My Friends’ which automatically comes on the iPhone. Like, when they should use their phones and what for. According to Flipd, “Digital devices offer an opportunity to engage students in a new way.” Meaning, that students wouldn't mess up this opportunity of phones in school. They would know that in order to keep this they wouldn’t be able to use it when they are working or the teachers are talking or in the hallways. They should only be allowed when teachers say they can come out or on the bus. For example, if they are done teaching and have no homework for the day, teachers can say rest of class you can go on phones. Students can learn to be more responsible by deciding when to take out their
