Students, especially high school students, shouldn't have to scarf down something at their locker/out of there backpack and use only the water fountain between classes. This is neither healthy nor efficient for them. The school counts eating during class to be a class distraction in some way, yet how has it really affected anyone in a negative way? In Tom Vilsack’s article, Should Candy and Soda be Banned from Schools? , he argues that banning unhealthy snacks and drinks would be helpful in abolishing nation’s childhood obesity epidemic. Mr. Vilsack states, in America, the food children are eating in school is half the calories they should be consuming and that can lead to diabetes at a young age and can carry on with diseases when they get older, therefore i agree on banning candy and soda. Children as said, can get diabetes if they do not watch what they eat, in this case, they will eat if the food the school serves taste good even if they do not know what exactly it is. I think students don’t eat enough during lunch and they would get hungry before and after lunch.…
