Armed services men and women criticize Kaepernick for having no pride in a country that has given him so much. At the same time, supporters of Kaepernick agree with his viewpoint, although they admit the flag is to be respected and honored. One opponent of Colin Kaepernick 's protest is his birth mother who criticized Kaepernick for "disrespecting and bringing shame to the very country and family who afforded you so many." Many of the enemies Kaepernick’s decision to protest during the national anthem view Kaepernick as a self-centered person who cares nothing about the country which allows him to play football for a living. Other skeptics of Kaepernick 's actions to sit while the national played believe Kaepernick should find a new country to live in instead of the United States.
