There are 5 million allied health care providers who work in more than 80 different professions and represent 60% of the health care providers, but it depends on the need for the job and what the person's profession is ("ExploreHealthCareers.org"). With this in mind, allied health care workers are directly and indirectly involved with patient health and some people work alone, or as part of a team ("ExploreHealthCareers.org"). Furthermore, some jobs in allied health care are: physician assistants, teachers, management in food, and in support services. One that wasn't listed in the textbook was a registered dietician and kinesiotherapist. In addition, a registered dietician helps many people with the treatment and prevention of diseases by coaching, and teaching the individual what is the right food to put into their bodies to stay healthy …show more content…
There are several different types of dieticians like management, clinical, community, educator, consultant, and business dieticians ("Allied Health Profession"). Community dieticians' work in daycare centers, fitness clubs, and grocery stores ("Allied Health Profession"). The community dietician will help provide medical nutrition therapy to many patients ("Allied Health Profession"). In addition, educator dieticians' primarily work at colleges and universities for college athlete's and for the future doctors, nurses, and dieticians ("Allied Health Profession"). Consultant dieticians' work under a health care facility, or have their own private practices ("Allied Health Profession"). These dieticians are flexible to a patient, or client's needs. Business dieticians' work for food manufacturing companies and pharmaceutical companies ("Allied Health Profession").
