Introduction Allen is an Emmy award winner and also a host of a hit prime-time series. He was born on May 20 1965 in Columbus and his current age is fifty. Allen is openly gay and now lives with his partner Barry Rice. He was the food and wine specialist on the amazing Bravo series. Allen is also an American writer and a cookbook author. Allen is a very caring and very supportive guy Allen volunteered to many national and local charities. (Food Network, n.d.)

Accomplishments
Allen has served on the Culinary Council of the food bank in New York City and emcees the GMHC’s annual Savor fundraiser. In May 2012, Allen received a James Beard Foundation Award for his work as the host of chopped. He also won an Emmy Award for Queer Eye for Outstanding Reality Program from Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Finally, he is a finalist for a national Magazine Award for his Esquire features on little-known phenomenon of male breast cancer. He is a cancer survivor. (IMDb.com, n.d. )
Philosophy of Food
Allen says he cooks everything and that he loves Mediterranean cooking, Asian cooking and Japanese noodles. Allen says its ok if you finish cooking something easy after guests arrive because some dishes are meant to prepared in minutes and as chefs say just remember to keep talking. Allen believes the best way to learn about food is by getting involved in the cooking of a dish, look at it, smell it and above all taste it.
