Allegory In Lord Of The Flies Quote Analysis

Lord of the Flies by William Golding is a mythological, psychological, and political. It tells the story using symbols such as the boys, island, and the Beast. The deleted scene extends the symbolism of the three allegories from the Lord of the Flies, and shows that in our world, evil comes from picking the wrong leader to follow and that we all have to do what is right, not following the flock of sheep. Golding also shows that, eventually, without authority, the mind will be taken over by the Id because primitive instincts will kick in. Thirdly, it will show that dictatorship is not an effective form of government and will eventually result in anarchy.

The sand castle represents salvation, since it symbolizes Heaven. It is an ideal place for the littluns, and they are hoping to be saved, thus being able to go to Heaven. It also represents happiness, because that is the littluns goal. They want to reach this ideal place, which is in short reaching happiness. Their psychological health will be at peace once they reach this place. Lastly, the sand castle represents their desire to leave the island because the littluns built it into a perfect society. The beast is satan, because that is what everyone is most fearful of. Also, the bigguns are giving into their temptations when they listen to the Beast. So, the Beast is trying to lure them away from the right person to follow. The Beast symbolizes the unconscious mind, because the Beast is actually within all of them. The Beast in a political allegory represents stress, because that is the factor that is causing financial debt to not get any
