Approximately 795 million people in the world are chronically malnourished. That means that one in nine people do not have enough food to live a healthy lifestyle. This is the biggest problem affecting a considerable amount of the human population. Hunger and hunger related illnesses kill just over 6 million children a year. Hunger is not partial to race or gender, it’s a problem in all corners of the world, it affects people in even the most developed countries. The more humans progress the more this problem, logically, should diminish but that is not the case as of now. Hunger has plagued third world countries making survival close to impossible for some. 98% of the world 's most undernourished people live in developing countries, there are numerous problems affecting these countries but hunger is the worst. The people of these countries don 't have the luxury of having grocery stores on every street corner, or have restaurants where the portions are twice that of the suggested serving. Most Westerners have a hard time relating to the struggles these people face on a daily basis. Often when the starved people do obtain food it 's not nutritious, usually organizations opt for foods that are calorically dense, so they can ship over more thus helping more people. This helps for a short time but can lead to more problems down the line. Hunger in developing countries gets very complex, but over the years it’s drastically gone down, thanks to organizations and government help. The most famished nation is Africa, this has been a known fact for years and the first thing to pop into most people 's heads when they first hear of hunger. The problem in this nation is famine. Famine is brought on mostly from drought, there is little that can be done to prevent it, but the few precautions there are are ruined due to Civil wars, political tensions and military campaigns. Countries where hunger is the worst has to do with the land or lack there of it. This is yet again an unsolvable issue, there is no way to change the climate or the layout of the land. There is a somewhat easy solution though worldwide support and help. The rest of the world doesn 't have as many issues, this is due to the prevalence of governmental control over what is happening and also just availability of resources.
