All Summer In A Day Ray Bradbury Theme

Can you imagine living on a planet with endless rain and no sun? The story, “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury is an interesting story with many different interpretations and morals. Ray Bradbury writes stories, mostly about science-fiction and his stories always have deep morals. The story is about a girl named Margot, who suffers from depression, lives on Venus, and gets bullied by her classmates because they are jealous that she has experienced the sun before and they haven’t. Because the children are jealous of Margot, they treat her differently and harass her based on her beliefs and experiences. Margot moved to Venus when she was four and she has a fading memory of the sun since she was living under the sun five years ago on earth. All the other children in her class were born on Venus. The kids in her class have knowledge of her differences and because of that, she is treated poorly because they are jealous of her experiences. Bradbury mainly uses similes to show the jealousy of her classmates and Margot’s knowledge of the sun. The children are jealous of Margot because she told them the sun would come out and she described it to them and they didn’t believe her.
