Taylor Swift once said, “If they don't like you for being yourself, be yourself even more.” In the short story “All Summer in a Day” written by Ray Bradbury the character Margot is being bullied because she is not like the other kids in the planet she is being herself and the kids don’t like that and bully her, in here she needs to be more like herself more to not be bullied. The theme is that bullies don not know how are the kids they are bullying because Margot already saw the Sun and the way she is.
Margot is being bullied because in Earth she saw the Sun and the other kids that are bullying her do not remember how it was. In this planet, the Sun comes out every 7 years and the kids do not have memory of it. The author said, “She had come here only five years ago from Earth, and she remembered the way the sun was and the sky and the other kids have been all their lives here” (Bradbury 3). This says that Margot remembers the way the Sun was because she comes from Earth and the other kids have been in Venus all their lives and do not remember the way the Sun was. “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury, is a science fiction short story. Bradbury included a one of a kind setting, superior characterization, and an ending that allowed readers to create their own, using their imagination. The setting was unique and I would have never thought of an imaginable place like Venus. The children reach guilt in the story when they locked Margot up in a closet, thinking her opinion was wrong; and made her miss the thing most important to her in the whole entire world. And on top of it, she was right. So, don’t judge people for being different and don’t deny things so quickly just because they’re unusual. Just put yourself in Margot’s shoes- imagine you were moved away from Earth at age four without choice to the raining planet Venus where the sun comes out only every 7 years or so.…

Bradbury also uses descriptive language to describe the important events that went on during the story. He describes margot as a frail young girl, and also describes the rain as it had come crashing down on the now soaked surface of venus. So many times, Bradbury uses this skill to paint the picture in the reader's mind.…
