Margot is being bullied because in Earth she saw the Sun and the other kids that are bullying her do not remember how it was. In this planet, the Sun comes out every 7 years and the kids do not have memory of it. The author said, “She had come here only five years ago from Earth, and she remembered the way the sun was and the sky and the other kids have been all their lives here” (Bradbury 3). This says that Margot remembers the way the Sun was because she comes from Earth and the other kids have been in Venus all their lives and do not remember the way the Sun was. Margot in this short story is not like the other kids, she does not shower, she behaves different to the others and the kids do not like that. The author said, “she had refused to shower in the school shower rooms, had clutched her hands to her ears” (Bradbury 3). This says that Margot does not shower and does not follow the rules and does not play with the kids and the kids think she is weird and that is why they bully her and laugh at her.
