In the book All Over but the Shoutin´ by Rick Bragg, the character Sam is faced with the choice to pursue his education or help maintain his family´s financial structure. Sam´s selfless choice of dropping out of school in order to help his family at a time of need was an effective decision.
Sam Sacrificed his future in order to salvage his family´s and in doing so he provided protection and good health to them, ¨ The pay isin a whole lot but it allows his family to have decent health insurance, and that eases his mind¨ Rick was talking about how Sam has a low paying job but it is good enough to provide healthcare for his family. Rick is referring that because of Sam´s choice, his family has the luxury of insurance. Sam´s choice was most effective
