At the age of 2, I started to walk properly and run around the house. My father did not know what to do in order to calm me down. Then one day, he gave me my very first size 3 football. He recalls me playing with the football on a daily basis. Day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year I played with the size 3 ball. We went to the games even though we did not like the team. As our little motto went, “Watching football is a blessing no matter who plays.” We enjoyed the company of each other and the privilege to watch the football games live other than sitting at home watching it on the small television we owned.
A few months later, I entered high school and I trembled in fear when I went to tryouts. I belonged to a small group of ten ninth graders trying out for football. We prayed together and wished each other good luck.
As it became my turn to play on the field, I noticed multiple older girls staring at me in an intimidating way. I let it slide and played the game I enjoy playing. As I took the ball and dribbled it throughout halfway up the field, a senior came running towards me trying to knock me down. I quickly maneuvered and she fell on the ground. Another senior came and did the same thing and I moved away from her as well. It happened multiple times until I got to goal and scored.
It happened all through the three days of tryouts. Many girls swarmed around me trying to fight I quickly ran to the coach and told him what troubled me. He smirked and said, “Those girls have been on the team for quite a while and had never been pushed around by a freshman. We will settle the issue right now do not
