All Kinds Of Lie In Lucian's A True History

The satiric and rhetorical writings of Lucian provided informative writings. He wrote A True History in the 2nd century ADE which illustrated the fact that lying was rife within the authors of the past including academics and philosophers. Lucian argues that everyone was deceitful and alludes to the fact that others were deceitful about their lying in their writing. Lucian was no different, claiming that ‘I tell all kinds of lies in a plausible and specious way’ whilst not writing of mythic creatures and heroes of immense strength, Lucian self-admittedly lies in his writings, however, he claims he never lied about lying.
