There are millions of stories told by people who claim to of been abducted by little green beings and loaded up in a spaceship. Some of these stories are vivid and well detailed, but there is no proof. Most of the people who have made these claims are unreliable and unstable. There is an interview with a man who claimed to of been abducted by aliens in 1988. The man claims he was awoken by dogs barking in the middle of the night and was escorted into a spaceship by three smaller beings. The man claims the aliens took him to the moon, laid him in a pool of gel to decontaminate him, and told him things that were going to happen in the near future. The man claims the beings told him that by 2015, everyone would know aliens exist, and the sky would be full of their spacecraft (Spiteri n.p.). However, it is 2016, and there is no proof that aliens exist. This encounter could be explained by many different theories ranging from mental illness to sleep paralysis to even temporal lobe lability. It has been proven that people with relatively labile temporal lobes are more susceptible to visions or mythical, out of body experiences (Blackmore N.P.). This could be an explanation for these bizarre …show more content…
There have been many instances where there was believed to be alien life evidence, but it was debunked by scientists. NASA scientist William Borucki, who has led teams discovering new planets, says that aliens do not exist (Winsor N.P.). He states that he is actually surprised at the absence of alien life on other planets (Winsor N.P.). Borucki has helped discover 1,000 planets and many more possible planets, so this makes him a credible witness (Winsor N.P.). In 1996, Bill Clinton conducted a study that said a meteor from Mars had contained proof of aliens (Couts N.P.). This was later proved to be untrue by scientists. (Couts N.P.). “A newly published study claiming evidence of alien life is most likely incorrect, say NASA and its top scientists” (Couts N.P.). Also, The Journal of Cosmetology published a study by a NASA researcher in Alabama who claimed to of discovered extraterrestrial bacteria in the fossil of a meteorite (Couts N.P.). However, biologists say that the bacteria were most likely not extraterrestrial, but Earth born and was more than likely contaminated (Couts n.p.). When asked why this study gained so much publicity, McSween said it was because it was about extraterrestrial life (Couts n.p.). This statement actually makes a good point of explaining why people are so quick to believe in alien life. With all of the terrible things going on in the world, people want something to cling onto
