Equally important to survival is how we view our circumstances. In the movie The Lady in Number 6, the way Alice Somner viewed her circumstances affected how she lived her life. The movie says about Alice, “She could see the good in every German individual . . . She was laughing even at the concentration camps.” (The Lady in Number 6) Even though Alice was going through the toughest time of her life, she was still able to find a way to “see the good” (The Lady in Number 6) in what was going on around her. This helped her to have a positive outlook on life. Instead of being resentful and angry, she lived a happy and joyous life. This is unlike Elie in the book Night.
