I thought, since it was not easy for me, I was never going to understand it. I was too embarrassed to see a tutor, so I had convinced myself that Algebra was a waste of time. I focused on other subjects. I did what I considered good enough. Meaning, I passed with a C.…
Christa Mcauliffe Elementary School is the school I went to for kindergarten through 6th grade. By the end of 6th grade I was preparing myself mentally for Jr. High. It’s a new school and place perfect for new experiences. I would be getting a locker and teachers for each subject. I was excited and very nervous.…
AP Chemistry has made me realize that you need to work hard for the things you want. AP Chemistry is by far the hardest class I have ever taken. It was full of hard concepts and ideas that I could not seem to understand. Most times, I stayed up studying for tests until three in the morning. My teacher had tests that were based on past AP exams and in order to reach the highest score, a five, you usually needed to get a minimum percentage of seventy percent.…
Algebra 1 and Math 3 are very similar to each other in mathematic ways because they are both mostly about numbers, but there is also a couple of differences too. For Algebra 1, it is a study of how to solve equations or any math problems that has to solve for X and find the answer for X. Algebra 1 requires lots of thinking and self-calculating problems which will help you to solve equations faster without using your calculator. On the other hand, Math 3 is totally different. Math 3 is really about graphing points and finding the location of any points on the graph, which requires lots of practice; It's also about finding areas of any shapes or any angles on shapes. And also, finding quadrants on the graph , which talks a lot about x-axis and…
There are many classes that people are taking at CBHS, one of them is Mr.Daller’s Algebra 2 class. This class is an adventure of through the world numbers, trigonometry, and algebra 2. Algebra 2 is an easy class if the effort is put in. Algebra 2 is a hard class even if effort is put forth, but others may disagree.…
3.4J- determine a quotient using the relationship between multiplication and division Students will be able to determine/find how unknown is related to/in like multiplication and division facts. They will complete a tool (worksheet) where they are required to get 8/11 in order to pass. Yet, IEPs and 504 Plan students only need to get 6/11 correctly to pass. They will be allowed to illustrate their work in the empty space under the questions.…
And once i get that test back from that lesson guess what i got! A D! I got lucky i got lucky on the multiple choice. Im a junior now and from what people have told me this is “The most important year of my high school years” well.. lets hope for the best is what i respond. Its really hard when all your friends have applied and got acctepeted into their dream colleges and your sitting here and don 't even have good enough grades to apply to a university.…
This year for math I will be doing Algebra 1 on Khan Academy. I did 8th grade math on Khan Academy and I liked using it so I decided to use it again. Last year I decided to do 8th grade math instead of doing pre algebra because 8th grade had more variety including geometry which we thought would be good for me. I am looking forward to doing algebra because that is a strong suit for me so it should be a little bit easier than last year.…
The most challenging yet rewarding class I have taken in high school was AP Psychology. This course consistently challenged my way of thinking and constantly drove me to ask questions about the human mind and behavior. I found myself searching for ways to apply the concepts discussed in class to my everyday life. In many ways, this was my favorite part about this class. Psychology is used to explain why thirty minute naps are better than two hour naps, and why studying over time helps with memory and information retention.…
Tulen Aidar (atulen2), ENGL 160 (38997) With completing the first few weeks in the ENGL 160 class, I was able to benefit from a variety of new things from the class. My expectation about this class was that during the whole semester we will study grammar and structure of academic essays, as well as writing a large number of essays inside the class. However, I was pleasantly surprised, because we began to read interesting article and discuss it and in the end write summary about it. The most challenging for me was the amount of homework.…
On top of that I was taking an honors Biology class that everyone said was a tough class with a strict teacher. Everyone was making it seem like the end of the world, so I thought maybe they were exaggerating a little. Well, that changed after the first 20 minutes of taking that class. And it got worse each day. The teacher would give us homework every night, pop quizzes twice a week and impossible tests.…
My story begins on an Excel Sheet. An Excel sheet on a Compaq computer in a garage filled with giant cardboard boxes. I remember sitting on the steps to our garage; my mother shouting out cryptic patterns of letters and numbers and the soft clicking of my keyboard. After that, is a blur. Probably because I couldn’t see through my teary eyes and smudged glasses.…
One of my many weaknesses is taking tests. Physically taking tests brings me anxiety, which ultimately doesn’t end in my favor. Yet, it gives me a sense of confidence while taking the actual test, leading me to believe that I actually might have passed. When getting the results back turmoil floods over me; I thought I could have achieved a higher score than I received. This has been/is a major issue for me through these past years.…
In order to derive the Quadratic Formula by completing the square, it was important to verify that the quadratic equation was in standard form which is ax? + bx + c = 0. By using this correct form, I prevented myself from using the wrong values for a,b, or c which could result in an incorrect solution. I began by rewriting the equation by subtracting c to the other side which isolated ax? + bx.…
Richie. I simply learned and took in so much information that day, and I realized that it could benefit myself on the test. Before I saw it coming these finals came along, and those endless frustrating study sessions would come to an end. I had several exams from different subjects that I was worried about, but I was not nearly as worried about them as my math final. In the end of these exams I did pass my final exams with a fairly decent percentage although, I had that one final exam to worry about and that was the math final.…
