Alex's Body: A Short Story

Decent Essays
Within the body of a child dwelled an atom, who helped to make up the elements that dwelled in the body of a child called Alex. Even though, the atom was the smallest unit in the whole body, it helped to make sure the daily needs of the body were met. The atoms acted as the tough guys of the body because they were big in number, or so they thought. They would often compare their amounts of neutrons, protons, and electrons to one another and drawing out structural and molecular formulas, to make it look like their electrons would increase alternating between the drawings. However, their atomic number, atomic mass, and isotopes reminded them no matter how much they tried to compare, they would end up bonding both ionic and covalently, whichever …show more content…
The DNA, RNA, and their enforcement of nucleic acids that paired up to make nucleotides came together with a plan to send out to all the cells in his body on how to accomplish this task. His meal was full of high levels of trans fats, unsaturated fats, starches, oils, proteins, fats organic and inorganic molecules. Together, all of the molecules and matter moved in Alex’s body with a pace that mimic the speed of light, as if Alex were on steroids. The amount of glucose needed to digest and remove the need nutrients and waste was overwhelming. Although the organic molecules were the easiest to break down, they still acquired a lot of energy since they were macromolecules. The complex molecules of carbohydrates, monosaccharides, disaccharides, polysaccharides, phospholipids, triglycerides, and cellulose stood in conversation discussing their unique makeup and creation with one another waiting for their next assignment in the body
The macromolecules of the food passed through the body and were broken down through hydrolysis reaction powered by ATP that separated the families within the molecules; spreading sisters, brothers, husbands, and wives so swiftly and with no concern. The many subunits

2.5 – Nuclear Physics What was initially known about the model of the atom before Thomson and Rutherford conducted their experiments? The first model of the atom is thought to have come from two Greek philosophers - Democritus and Leucippus – in the fifth century BC. These two philosophers believed that everything was made up of matter, and that you could half a given portion of matter (and keep halving the product) and eventually be left with something that couldn’t be halved again: the atom. They believed that all atoms were imperishable and could not be split apart.…
