Alexander the Greats Family influences Alexander was born in 356 BC and his parents were King Philip II and Queen Olympia’s (“Alexander the Great,” 2009). Alexander was a brave and smart man, he absorbed his teachers tutoring and worked hard on his trainings. He was especially good when it came to war stages and figuring out how to win the battle. An old legend even says that Alexander’s father was Zeus the god of thunder and lightning (“Alexander the Great,” 2009). From very early in his life, Alexander showed greatness in him. He tamed a horse that no one else could, and when he was put in charge of his country when his father was away he did not hesitate when having to go into battle against the Sacred Band of Thebes (“Alexander the Great,” 2009). Alexander was showing courageous military skills and leadership from a very early age and that can only be because of his fathers push and his mothers encouragement to keep him going. The family of Alexander’s was not even close to being perfect at all, but they had a strong hold on his life that keep pushing him to become the greatest of all times, what they did not know is this was only the start of his great reign.
