Is Alexander great or not great? I think Alexander is great because he conquered so much land just to be remembered. He was a great leader to his soldiers and he respected them. Alexander never gave up, but he kept on going and he believed in himself. Alexander showed that he is great in the legend of the helmet and in the legend of the hat band. Alexander was respectful to his soldiers. In The legend of the helmet, Alexander’s army found some water, put it in a helmet and went back to Alexander and gave it to him. He dumped it on the ground because there wasn’t enough for his soldiers so he didn’t have any either. Alexander is going to move back and forth to tire Porus and his army out. Alexander kept on moving back and forth and porus stopped because he thought that Alexander wasn’t going to attack so he stopped moving. Alexander didn’t stop though but when he knew porus stopped Alex got ready to attack he had 5,000 men on one side of the river and 10,000 men on the other side of the river and before porus noticed Alex and his army attacked and won by scaring the elephants and killed Porus’s men so he left. At first I didn’t think Alexander was great because of some of the things he did but then on the other hand there was most of the time. I heard really good things that he did so I think he’s great. I chose that Alexander is great because he believed in himself and he never gave up he kept going and conquered so much land. He walked with his army across the desert instead of riding a horse. Also Alexander’s men found water and brought it to Alexander but he was strong and did not drink the water. Instead he poured it on the ground to show that they were into this together.
